Region: Marlborough, NZ Varietal: Pinot Noir Vintage: 2009 Alc Vol: 13% Approx Standard Drinks: 7.7 Notes...Expect juicy dark cherry, lush plum, red and black berry flavours, smoldering wiht wispers of spice and dashing tannins.
Occasions... Works well at home; going out to someone else's when something a little better than the norm is required and also popular as a corporate/special event style wine as it overdelivers for the price. Food...Duck, Pizza, Pasta, Vegetarian, Hamburger, Soft Cheeses, Sausages, Lamb, Beef, Veal, Pork, Tuna, Trout, Japanese, Tosh Says... I'm rapt with the entire Pear Tree range and this wine certainly re-inforces my opinion. A lot of Pinot's can be too light, almost watery, and even though this wine is not from it's full-blooded neigbourly Central Otago region, it still possess' good body. The most important facet for me when selecting Pinot Noir. All the flavours are there. Wispy tannin gives a bit of depth and overall a particularly good wine for weeknight or lighter drinking.
