Region: Yarra Valley, Vic Varietal: Pinot Noir Vintage: 2009 Alc Vol: 13% Approx Standard Drinks: 7.7 Notes... Made from 100% Yarra Valley grapes, and fermented in open top fermenters this wine is a delightfully full bodied wine with a very smooth finish. Part fermentation in aged French oak barrels has delivered the complexity one desires with good Pinot Noir. Ruby red in coulour, ripe Raspberry, juicy blackberry and cherry characters greet the palate like a long lost friend.Ssavoury oak and spicy undertones prevail. Will get better each year until at least 2014.
Occasions... Perfect for around home or casual affairs where you are only wishing to impress at a respectable financial level to yourself. Great price sees it perfect for you home 'spoil' of a glass at night with dinner or whenever the urge grabs you. Food...Duck, Pizza, Pasta, Vegetarian, Hamburger, Soft Cheeses, Sausages, Lamb, Beef, Veal, Pork, Tuna, Trout, Japanese, Tosh Says... Really good little treat this one. Rarely do you get decent Pinot Noir for under $20 a bottle, but this little number really surprised me. Not sure why. The Yarra Valley after all is one of Australia's premier Pinot Noir regions. I think it was the price mainly - very good value and makes it very affordable for all.
