Notes...The Waihopai Valley Marlborough is often referred to as hole in the water due to it being one of New Zealand's Sunniest and driest areas.
In these bright, but relatively 'cool' climate conditions, the Sauvignon Blanc grapes have the advantage of a long slow, ripening period. This produces a wine that has enough complexity to allow the tropical fruit, pineapple and vague passion fruit attributes to shine through, without over powering the palate. Tropical fruits, subtle pine and passionfruit flavours finish with a relatively dry finish.
Occasions... Perfect at home as your preferred tipple. Also makes an excellent choice when out and about at friends or restaurants. Won't let you down anywhere.
Food...Vegetarian, Salads, Cheeses, Fruit, Fish, Shellfish, Chinese, Pasta
Tosh Says...This is a wine I only found recently and I have to say for its price it is pretty darn good. You need a a good quaffing option and this certainly fits the bill. Possesses all the usual talents of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc at a price I am happy to pay. I know plenty of other wines that don't produce what this baby does - and they are twice as much!
