NEARLY $1000 RAISED IN JUST ONE EVENING!!!

November, 2009...

How good is that!

Special thanks must go to Ang & Chad and their family for providing the facility for the event to be hosted. If it wasn't for Ang in particular the Womens Cancer Research Foundation would be close to $1000 worse off!

Thanks also to everyone who ordered magnificent wines not only on the night but also over the following week through BTW. Without you this great result would never have happened.

Thanks to Big Time Wine & City Cellars for supplying the wines that were tasted - and also Tempus Two (yet again)for their support of the night!

GIRLS NIGHT IN ... RAISING FUNDS TOGETHER TO FIGHT WOMEN'S CANCER

October 31, 2009...

October was the nominated month where fundraisers were held all across the country to raise money for research in an effort to find ways in successfully fighting cancer and its causes, in women in particular. Most of these events were held under the 'Girls Night In' fundraising banner.

City Cellars/ Big Time Wine was lucky enough to be asked to assist with hosting one such event - a wine tasting function for a group of wonderfully generous ladies in Sydney's south.

The night itself was a huge success (with photo's hopefully on the site soon!) with Ang and the girls all getting together for a night of wine tasting and purchasing, with profits ultimately going to women's cancer research.

The night's product list included by Fred, Tempus Two and Spring Mountain wines, with many ladies (and men!) trying over 16 different wines ranging from Tempus Two Sparkling & Moscato, to Fred (our favourite red wine!) right through to dessert wines and verdelho's and Coonawarra Cabernets and so on, and so on...

Two great things happened from this night of community care and action.

One - much needed funds were raised. A special thanks to Peter who donated his Tempus Two Pewter Range Snakeskin 4pk back (won through Tosh's wine options game) with it's eventual raffle-ing earning $300 alone for the charity. Great work Peter!

Two - it was fantastic to see people trying all the different wine styles and not limiting themselves to traditional favourites. Getting out of their wine comfort zones in other words.

Fred was a hit (as always) but more than anything it was just nice to hear people say 'Wow - I didn't realize how good Verdelho is' ; or 'I've never been a huge red wine drinker but that was because I hadn't found one I like ... and now I have'; or 'This Moscato is the best thing I've tasted since... well, ever!'

But our work isn't done folks - not yet anyway!

There were many people who were unable to make it to the event who passed on their best wishes and intimated they would have liked to support. Well here is your chance!

Big Time Wine will be keeping open this fundraising for women's cancer opportunity for one week - ending Midnight, November 8 (Sunday), 2009.

Read the details in the left hand column of this page, order some wine and do your bit to contribute to such a worthwhile cause. I doubt there are many in this world of ours who haven't been touched by cancer in one way or another, and if we are being honest - who is to say we will be immune from cancer and its causes in our own lives? Here's your chance to show you care.

Once again a huge thanks to Ang & Chad who opened their house, their backyard and their arms to everyone - with Ang's Lemon Cake in particular a huge favourite of Tosh's!

And most of all thank you to everyone who attended. It was a privilege for BTW to be allowed to particpate in such an honourable pursuit and please keep us in mind when any other such work is needed. We'll even try and keep the wine options game questions a little easier next time!

WANT TO RAISE MONEY FOR YOUR CLUB, SCHOOL OR CHARITY TOO?

You can - and have a heap of fun along the way too. Simply click HERE to contact Tosh at BTW and he'll walk you through just how easy it is to do something worthwhile and help raise those much needed funds to help out in the community.
